Annie Lukowski and Leyna Juliet Weber are the dynamic duo behind WorkingBug. And WorkingBug.com is the powerhouse behind the award-winning Road to the Altar, starring Jaleel White (Family Matters). Annie and Leyna also mobilized a stew of talent in Random Comedies and A Series of Unfortunate People, starring Randall Park (Fresh Off the Boat), Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele), Kym Whitley (Animal Practice), and Michael Urie (Ugly Betty). WorkingBug’s projects have been featured on Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, CNN, and TV Guide. They have gained nods from BusinessWeek to The Huffington Post to NBC’s Extra. The duo is represented by Ken Freimann of Circle of Confusion.

Leyna and Annie co-authored Road to the Altar, which was nominated by the Producers Guild of America for Outstanding Independent Webseries. The show starred Jaleel White (Urkel, Family Matters) and Leyna (Six Feet Under), was directed by Annie, and executive produced by MWG Entertainment. CNN named White one of “Eight Amazing Celebrity Comebacks in 2010.” Road to the Altar garnered praise from the likes of Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood to TV Guide. The press raved, “Punch lines emerge rapid fire”; “Cleverly satirizes wedding fever”; and “Many layers of absurdity.”

A Series of Unfortunate People launched in an exclusive deal on the premium platform, Dailymotion.com. Ashton Kutcher and Intel’s IdeaJam awarded Annie and Leyna for their creation, Match My Friend. Some other independent writing / producing projects include new media spots for the Bravo Network and Jeep.

 

The team has incorporated many brands into their portfolio. Gracing the cover story of BrandWeek, they were praised for their work with Pier One, iRobot Roomba, and Panda Express, noting their organic product integration and “real entertainment value.” They were also featured in Fast Company and on Clicker.com.

 

Annie and Leyna are currently developing the dark comedy feature, Taken for a Ride. They also collaborated on a series, Nurse Dave,with comedian, David A. Arnold (Tyler Perry’s House of Payne.) The Bugs have been applauded for high-quality content that effortlessly translates to the big screen.

ABOUT ANNIE

 Annie is an award-winning storyteller and prolific content creator who works in both traditional media and virtual reality. She co-founded Vanishing Point Media, a full service Virtual Reality production company with clients like Jimmy Kimmel Live, Toyota, and Banana Republic. Her traditional work includes branded spots for Jeep, teenVogue and Maybelline. Her scripted work has won a PGA award and has showcased at many festivals including TriBeca the Hampton's International Film Festival and the United Nations. Annie is a member of the Academy of Television.

ABOUT LEYNA

Leyna is a writer/actress who has appeared in Law & Order, Enlightened, Six Feet Under, As the World Turns and Special Victims Unit. She voices cartoons (Kenny the Shark), radio, video games (Grand Theft Auto, Midnight Club II), and is the chief narrator on the Discovery Channel's Emmy Award-winning series, Assignment Discovery. The Producers Guild of America nominated Leyna's work, and she has appeared in dozens of awarded films at international festivals. The Huffington Post regularly features Leyna's viral articles, many more of which populate SeeMomWrite.com. Leyna has showcased her original sketch comedy and performed on stages from NYC's Manhattan Playhouse and The Danny Kaye to Hollywood's Acme Comedy. Leyna co-creates and stars in all of WorkingBug's hits.
